I have a 2005 ford F-150 with the 5.4 V8 in it, and last week I was on my way to work and it backfired... LOUDLY... I bought the truck brand spankin new in October last year, it has around 17000 on it now. When i bought it, i installed dynomax dual exhaust, and a stock replacement k&n filter. not the whole kit. I know sometimes with aftermarket exhaust when you let off the accelerator it will rumble a little, but this let out 3 really loud bangs. one, then i accelerated, and another, and so on. why in a brand new fuel injected vehicle did this happen?? and dont say because its a ford i've heard that enough, i want answers here not bs.

well it could be your gas. Honestly. Im a Ford Sr. master tech and ive chased this down a few times and linked it to bad gas. Yes ford did have a tsb on plugs and fuel injectors. but it still was the gas. but if its still under warrenty take it in.

Ok it's because it's a 3 valve :-)

As the other tech said, bring it back to the Ford dealer.. Ford had some problems with fuel injectors on the 3 v staying stuck open fouling plugs (there is a TSB on this) and can possibly cause the concern you stated (more noticable possibly due to the custom exhaust work that won't dampen the sound like the factory equipment would)

it fairly relies upon on what makes use of of the truck your comparing.....they're the two super trucks, or perhaps with the certainty that I extremely have an 02 ranger, im attempting to be easy...his is a ninety seven and nevertheless on the line giving an 05 a run for its money. that declares a lot suited there. yet so a strategies as determining on up chicks on the mall, maximum might somewhat get right into a extra present day F150 than an previous ranger...you men might desire to easily comprehend which you're actually not comparing apples and apples...yet as long as your the two thrilled with your trucks you will the two be purely large....we could chop up the version and purely say mine is extra effective haha

17,000 miles & a 2005 = warranty, take it in.
