Hinduism spready mostly through forrest academies, where people would refrain from worldly life, live with a teacher, and learn the ways of the world. It spread just like any other religion, but the significant factor is that it was spread from a teacher to a student in a very personal and open forum.

There was a question early this morning with the most accurate explanation between Buddhist and Hindu But I think the Hindu's are somewhat a closed society. The spread is small, as they believe in the caste system of family power.
Not much room for me as a white Irish boy to do anything without standing out but I am sure they would let me study and pay my tuition or whatever.

mostly from rulers that were relguios and very strict priest that were more feared then there gods.
hindus have differant beliefs in there various sects and cults
but they number into the billions. thus the name includes all religions in india

It spread by making it so vague anyone who wanted could belong. Then Buddhism took up the ball and ran with it.
