Well so many people have different religious beliefs, if we based every legal/illegal act on religion then when wouldn't be allowed to do a lot of stuff. I believe that most laws are passed by the demanded of popular vote. Think about it. If lots of people didn't support "gayism" then the law wouldn't have been passed. The president and other official look at the situtation as the chance to get more votes in. If more people support it vs. the people who don't, the law will get passed. Whether the votes were for it or not. Laws have never been passes based on religion. If they were then there would be lots of war. Because different religions have different beliefs

"gayism" "jewism"... that's so cute.
If you're honestly asking this question... no I'm not going to go there. But I'll answer it.
Because the world isn't just "jewism" and "christiaiasm". A whole lot of countries in this world base their laws on non "religiousism" and in countries like that. Things like "democracism" and "republicism" and "parlimentarism" etc etc etc
Besides have you seen some of the laws that are on the books around the world? Some of them can be downright strange.

The government cannot, or at least should not decide laws based on what people consider sin.
What 2 or more consenting adults do behind closed doors is no one's business. Least of all the governments. Besides we would not have room in the jails if things like that was illegal. The sex drive is the single strongest drive we have.
This is just my opinion, but I think the jails would be less crowded if Christianity was illegal, because I doubt there would be enough evidence to convict most christians. When I say this I am not advocating this, but merely pointing out that the average person that claims to be christian is not living it.
To make it clear where I stand we have freedom of religion as it should be. Christians or any other group should always have the freedom to believe what we choose, yes even us pagans.

AW, is just to distract the public from the real issues
who cares ,there always will be gay relationship in this planet no matter what laws are on the land, gay are the best jokes in humor and also great cooks the rest of gayism is not my concern,i m straight but have friends and relatives that are gay and they are nice people,
nothing against them
(you 'll learn that after a member of your own family is gay )
but some how politician have found ground to exploit the taboo and the hate words that either you are with them or against them no middle ground. and that is a fine political move exploiting the fears and ignorance of people

Premartial sex or homosexuality is down to choice. In most places freedom of choice is allowed by the State. the State allows citizens to lead their own lives and make their own decisions. In such States there is a separation of church and State. The religious community does not inform the State in it's rules and can not interfere in the State's laws. this maintains freedom. The majority of people do not follow Christianity or Judaism so the imposition of their narrow creeds on the majority of the State's citizenry would not be tolerated, hence why people can have sex as they see fit without the interference or disapproval of the State.

gayism? wtf?
Because religion doesn't rule ALL of politics, and can keep their stinkfingers off my premarital sex, thank you! Its bad enough they knock down homosexuals, but bashing premarital sex is just too much! I think if they found a way to make that illegal here in the US, I would be a Canadian in a heartbeat (even though I would rather be one right now anyway).

Gayism..LOL..... ok...ok...back to the subject...Well because religion is a whole mess of racist and degrading crappy ideals and for some it is to be taken literally where as some people use their own minds to think and know what is right and what is wrong and that you treat others the same way you would like to be treated--it's soo simple yet so many people find it so hard to accept people no matter what their sexual preference or skin color

Gayism? Man, I can already tell you're an idiot.
Through the study of identical twins, we now know that homosexuality has a lot to do with genetics, meaning for you not so bright people, individuals are born the way they are.
Christianity also promotes slavery and the degration of women, what do you expect, it was written thousands of years ago by men.

I don't remember the Christian Bible saying anything about premarital sex, just adultery which means one of the individuals is married to someone else, but the Bible discourages many unnatural acts like homosexuality that are commonly done by sinners. Although most states don't try to prosecute consenting adults for what they do in the privacy of their homes you would be surprised to learn homosexual acts are illegal in many US states. Have you heard of Bill Clinton's military 'don't ask don't tell' policy?' All that did is prohibit the enlisting officer from asking if someone is homosexual. If they're caught doing a homosexual act, they're charged and if convicted they're kicked out of the military.
