I consider him to be a teacher and a messenger, yes a modern day prophet. If you read about the prophets of the old days there are lots of similarities, as they were hated for speaking out the things that people didn't want to hear. They were mocked, and accused of various things. They were oftentimes considered to be weird, and outcasts. Very few people considered them to be genuine even in those days. Sounds like a prophet to me.

He is not a prophet or evangelist. He is just another fool spreading the big lie. Do the research on the net, religion is a big lie. It was created in order to control the people. Do you believe in Jesus? If so, you to are living the lie. He was given the name Jesus by the Catholic Church in the latter part of the 8th century, his real name is Emanuel. Emanuel was the Christ, not Jesus. If you believe in Jesus, you are following a false prophet that the bible warns about. Check out the link. You're life will never be the same again. Yes, there is a God, but not the one religion teaches. The stories in the bible are taken from all sorts of other religions that existed before Christianity like budism, islam, hindu, satanism, etc. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's about time people wake up to the truth, time is running out for us all. 2012 is the year that all will be revealed. Another example is the Book Of Revelations. It was written by the Knights Templar, (the so called army of the Vatican, at least use to be before the Church killed them all) as a road map to the New World Order. If you read it you will see they have followed it almost to the letter.

Pat Robertson is an evangilical charismatic. He keeps his flock going with force of personality and appeals to their trusting natures. He does know his Bible backward and forward, I'll give him that, but he has a very "stream of conscioiusness" style of preaching. I suspect he himself has only a vague idea of what he is going to say at any given service or interview and just lets himself ramble.

In an interview he confessed that he simply "doesn't think" about what he says. He just trusts to God that what comes out of his mouth is what God wants him to say. What's really happening is a lot of free-association speeches with a lot of self-interest mixed in.

Remember that this was the man who insisted that an 800 foot tall Jesus came to him and demanded that he raise a couple of million dollars or he would be "called back home". He's also claimed to have bought a baby back from the dead and have exorcised people with a touch. He's a liar, a fraud, and a delusional egomaniac.

And yet people still believe him. Despite everything, he still generates enough income to run a multi-million dollar operation. I'd love to see his financial records.

Since you said "be nice" I'm restricted from telling you what I really feel about Pat Robertson, but to be honest I don't understand why this whackjob still has a following.

IMHO he and Osama Bin Laden have much in common with regards to their level of religious extremism. His comments regarding Chavez:

"If he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war. We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."

(Of course, then he backpedaled and tried to claim he wasn't advocating assassinating Hugo Chavez)

And then there's always the question of "Isn't prophesy and divination wrong, according to the Bible?" Then why's he doing it?

Still waiting for those 2006 storms and that tsunami, Pat. Or did God LIE to you?

He is a man who takes an awful lot of money from people and claims to receive messages from God. God recently told him that the US would be hit with a huge terrorist threat in 2007, some time after September. It doesn't take a prophet or even God to tell us that we are due to be hit. However, he also predicted we would be hit by a tsunami in 2006, and changes to the social security system, and many other claims, that never came to pass. I believe he is the worst kind of charlatan, a man who preys on people's fears and weaknesses, in exchange for fame and money and notoriety.

Did you ever read the story about John Lennon how before he got shot he took to watching Pat Robertson's televangelism and some accounts say he even became "born again?" Amazing, I think. He even started to witness to Yoko Ono. THIS from the same guy who wrote that awful, nihilistic pile of trash "Imagine."

Anyway, Pat Robertson is a little too hard core for my tastes. I think he does a fine job evangelizing a certain sector of those who need to come to Christ. Overall, I think he says waaaay too many stupid things to be a real hero for Christ. I read his predictions, too, and you never know--God may be using him to warn this country to get off its *** and fight this War. Pray that the attack don't come but when (despite the New York Times' protestations) you've got millions of Islamo-facists trying to blow you up you kind of have to expect the worse.

As a Christian I myself am disappointed in Pat Robertson as I believe that his message is of condemnation and not love. I don't see why we need people of our faith to tell the ones not of our faith how wrong they are. It is counter productive. The people He speaks so much about are turned off to God because of Him. God wants us to reveal His love and desire to be with us again. If He wants people to act different when He comes in their hearts He will change them. Changing and finger pointing and legislating and arguing ect are not what He commanded of us as Christians. I never have time for looking at everybody else God keeps me plenty busy changing myself but I could be wrong and Pat could be right. I know that is not what God would have me do personally.

A great deal would depend upon whom you mean by "people." I am certain that there are numerous people who go absolutely bonkers over Pat Robertson's blatherings. There is a substantial segment of the population who regard Mr. Robertson as completely out of his mind. Which peope do you mean?

I didnt mind him much when he just did the 700 Club but the past decade he's gotten pretty wacky. I think he is an evangelist (not a good one though) but even though he tries to be, I dont think he's a prophet.
