The 11 hours is the easy bit!
Thurso (far north of Scotland) to Penzance is 22 hours 48 minutes.

What is the longest train journey in the UK?
I've heard it takes over 11 hours to get from Exeter to Scotland, can anyone beat that?

I assume that the questionner means 'what is the longest train journey that can be made without changing trains' That, I would guess, would be the Virgin Cross Country service VT3 Aberdeen-Penzance A full map of VT x country can be found at http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/travelling_with_us/our_network/default.aspx
Much longer journeys can be made by changing trains and taking weird routes (after getting a 2nd mortgage to pay the fares, of course!)

The Caledonian Sleeper goes from Fort William at 6:30 pm and arrives at London Euston at 7:43 pm on Sundays. If you get a bargain berth you can travel on it for only £19 too!

Thurso to Penzance. Mind you, it can take just as long to get from London Bridge to Esher.
