A guy who likes me said his mom said I'm all these things, but she's only met me twice. What's the deal?

People are going to say things just to hurt the other person because that is who they are. It could be that his mom is pre-judging you, kind of like the saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover". It could be many things. What this guy needs to do is talk to his mom and find out what is really bothering her. If he doesn't think you are like that, then just ignore it. But if you think you are like that and get offensive, then maybe you need to consider on changing how you are.

If you think you are not like that at all, then why worry what other people think of you?

Hey Snowflake, all your life other people are going to have opinions about you. Those opinions are reflections of their own personal issues. So if his mom thinks your "stuck up", it's because there's something inside her that she considers "stuck-up" and she doesn't like it in herself...and transfers that dislike of herself onto you. Not fair for you but then she's doing the best she can. Your job...be yourself, learn to accept yourself as you are, to recognize that your are truly great and wonderful and that you can't control the feelings of others. You can control your own feelings. So just decide his mom is a jerk and ignore her. Good luck.

Hey My dear, If people think your that way then most likely you are. People perceive what is to be the truth. So their perception of you is what it is. If your not happy with what they perceive then maybe you should evaluate your self, and have a friend who is willing to tell you the truth help you, and you will need to listen even if it hurts... It may take the sting out of their constructive criticism if they let you know when its coming.

People say the same thing about me until they get to know me. I think it's because of the way I dress. I'm always dressed up and I'm quiet and very reserved. I think this gives people the impression that I think I'm better than everyone. Don't worry about it, when they get to know you they'll see different. Or, maybe that's how you are.

Maybe you're those things? Maybe she's the kinda mom who will hate any girl her precious little boy brings home. I suppose you should ask yourself if you're maybe... I don't know, stuck up, bossy & self-centered...

It could be that is what you are unconsciously portraying to people. Some people have a natural defense that appears to others to be stuffy. Why not ask your family and friends to be open and honest with you and take to heart what they have to say.
