The best thing to do is go and find out what this guy wants to talk to you about, maybe he wants to discuss the status of the relationship, and tell you he does not want to date you anymore and thinks that you and him should date other people. He could tell you how he feels and find out what your feelings are and then drop the bomb, whatever it is it sounds important enough to go over there and find out what he has to say.

I think I herd all I wont from him. You must have meet some of his friends , give one a call and go out to a movie or drink and make the other boy friend wonder if he did right.

Sounds to me like he thought something better had come along.... then it fell through so he changed his mind.
I would tell him that YOU want to take a break for a few weeks. Take some control of the relationship... its not only about what he wants.

I wouldnt give him the time of day--tell him you dont need to be hit over the head more than once to get the hint--He sounds like he is playing head games with you and that just not fair--

If he's already told you that he doesnt love and is not crazy for you..that means he doesnt care about you...maybe now that his game (girl) is turned upside down and he has no one to go to for comfort..hes coming back to you...it sounds to me like hes using you as a rebound..although you guys did date for a few months.

let him know that when he's got his act together to give you a call. Then see what he does.
Some men when they sense that they are falling for one girl and are about to lose their player status they panic. Then they set out to free themselves. Sounds to me like that was what he did. But dont you give him a chance to feel like he got to you until he explains himself. Sounds like he's got a little growing up to do.
