I think a pv-gs400. a pvgs300 might have a analog-digital passthrough and a focus ring, but im not sure. Im pretty sure it has a mic input jack, although once again, im not totally sure. But the gs400 is the best cam for the price (you cant find it in stores now, but you can get one off of ebay, or maybe somewhere on froogle, MSRP $1500, but now probably around $700-$900). It has a 4 way hybrid focus/zoom/iris/shutter ring and a mic input jack, and analog-digital passthrough. It also has native 16:9 1/4.7 inch chips, and for that price, that is crazy. I have a $1500 canon gl2 and it matches a lot of the functions that the gl2 has, so if you have the money definitely go for it. There are cheaper cams out there that probably have one of the functions or another, but not together, and the gs400 will last you a long time, so it is a good choice. BTW, its miniDV. Hope this helps!
