I’m in so much pain right now. I’ve given myself 2 Imitrex injections. I called my doctor and he said to take the Stadol every 4 hours as I need it… But the headache is too intense for the Stadol to work at this stage. It has been helping me to fall asleep for a bit, but wears off quick, and my headache comes right back full blown. I’m also taking Zofran for the nausea/vomiting.
3 weeks ago I ended up in the ER. The doctors were a bit worried so they did an MRI which came back normal, relief there. I’ve been in my dark, silent room since last night with a cold cloth over my eyes, taken the abortive/pain meds that I have.
I can usually control these headaches, but days like today where nothing is helping I don’t know what to do and usually end up in the ER. I don’t think its right to go to the ER now especially since the MRI showed nothing else is wrong. But I don’t know what to do for this pain? I've been taking the Stadol, but I swear this last dose didn't even help a bit.

Edited to add: I am very active when it comes to helping myself and these headaches. I’ve been getting these headaches since I was 15. I have a neurologist, take preventatives, go to a pain clinic, I do the alternatives regularly like bio-feedback, acupressure, yoga, and more... So take 2 Excedrin and go to bed isn’t the answer that is going to help this girl :(

I'm in the same boat as you hon. It sucks too! You sound like you've had your headaches for years...I'm the newbie, mine only started last month but nothing is working. I've had all the tests done (CAT scan/MRI/MRA) and they're all normal. Finally going to see a neurologist tomorrow to see what they can recommend.
I just posted 2 questions on here recently to try and find answers too. Haven't really found a miracle answer yet but I'm still hoping. =) I also have been to the ER twice this month b/c the pain was so unbearable...they gave me 2 shots of demerol (1 shot did nothing) and more meds for nausea and dizziness. It definately knocked me out and helped with the pain, but I cant do that everyday.
I've heard from different people on the net and people I know that said they take certain vitamins everyday that help migraines from coming back. The ones I've heard that helped are Magnesium, Vitamin B2(both 400mg a day) and Vitamin B6 (100mg a day).I'm going to talk to the neuro about this tomorrow and see what they have to say. Also heard some people take blood pressure meds to keep migraines away.Beta-blockers work sometimes too.
I'm currently taking Fiorinol w/Codeine when the pain is bad plus Meclizine for dizziness and Phenergan for nausea. It helps somewhat but as I said,I can't live everyday like that so I too am looking for answers.Don't know if anything I said helped at all or if you've heard it all before. I'll try and keep you in mind if I hear anything else and feel free to email me if you have any ideas, or if you just wanna vent. lol =) I hope you find some relief soon!!!

I have been dealing with the same thing myself. I have been to several neurologists, and sometimes you do need to go to the ER for rescue medication. You aren't supposed to have more than one Imitrex injection in 24 hours, and Stadol is just like candy. If nothing is helping, and your Doc doesn't have anything to say, then go to the ER. If you haven't had it before ask for DHEA, they will give it to you with toridol and an anti-naseau and it should help. I have given up on the ER and have oxycodone at home that I take to sleep off my attacks. I take 7.5mg every 4 hours until I can stand the pain. I also do the Imitrex injections, but only one a day, and no more than 3 a week.
I have been through all of this, I wish I could help you more. Email me if you want any other advice or just to talk about it. I'll be wishing to the no-headache fairy for you.

I have had migraines since I was 12.. which makes 35 years. 1 year ago my neurologist started Botox injections along with the daily preventative. What a god send!! I may still get the vision at the start of a migraine but the headache rarely come!! I get the Botox every 3 months.

You don't have a baby pitbull, you have a puppy. He's only 7 weeks old and puppies bite...that's what they do. Grabbing his mouth and putting pressure on his tough and biting him back are all pretty stupid ideas and your not teaching him a dang thing. How's this for an idea. Get a variety of chew toys, You can even get a couple of puppy Kongs and put them in the freezer, when he starts chewing on you, then you give him Kong instead. Puppies chew on things because their little puppy teeth are coming thru and their mouth hurt them. Also, had he been with his mother and siblings another couple of weeks, he would have learned bite inhibition. By removing a pup from their siblings and mother to soon, they don't learn this important lesson.

Apart from massage (i dont know if you have tried), or your food plan sounds like you have tried everything.
Maybe the lighter meals at night combined with a regular water intake (recommended to have 2 litres a day).
Good luck!
