My boyfriend just got some results from a blood test and they told him that his ALT level was 63. He has an appointment w/ his doctor for next Monday but in the meantime we were just very curious as to what this "63" could possibly indicate.

Anyone?!

It is elevated. Elevated liver enzymes indicate inflammation, which could be caused by a number of things. One of the most common reasons for elevated ALT's is hepatitis c (or any of the other forms of hepatitis). It's a simple blood test, I would suggest he asks the doc to run it. Best wishes.
