As a former bulimic I can tell you that for me I was never underweight. I binged and purged so often that my body was completely out of whack. I wasn't obese, but I never really achieved what I had set out to do, which was lose weight. I didn't gain either, just fluctuated between 5-8 lbs. My teeth became infected, I developed reflux...and it took up a lot of time in my life. Thank god it's over. If you're talking about yourself and you have the problem, please take the time to figure out why you're bulimic and solve the problem in a different way. Bulimia never solves the problem. Good Luck!

Yes, generally speaking someone who is bulimic is underweight. As we know mulimia is the process of eating something and then purging it out of the body by throwing it up. This process means that the body isn't getting the nutrients or food it needs and there for is the same as not eating and creates underweight conditions.

Usually bulimics are normal weight or overweight, because they binge/ purge IN ADDITION TO their regular food consumption. Plus, you cannot throw up 100% of what you eat. Some of the calories are absorbed almost immediately by the body.

Not necessarily. I was bulemic and was never actually underweight. Bulemics usually fluctuate in weight due to the cycles of binging and then purging, where as Anorexics just tend just to lose weight. But even Anorexics aren't necessarily underweight, especially if they receive early treatment. HTH : )
