How often do you self-injure?
Where do you self-injure on your body?
How would you describe your injuries on a scale of 1-8?(One being minor, and eight being serious)
How do others react when you do this?
Describe your feelings before/during/after you self-injure?
What other ways can you express these feelings?

These are all questions you should answer and come to grips with. I realize you are hesitant to speak with someone about your issue, but it sounds like there are tons of people waiting to help out. Just make the first step.

I was a high-school cheerleader, with great grades in AP classes, but I also engaged in some self-destructive behaviors. Once I figured out what I needed to do to get back on track I have never looked back. I have multiple degrees, and am counseling others... One of my counseling professors used to say they didn't want anyone in the program who hadn't experienced any trials in their life. Those of us who have been through some things can more easily relate to people who need our services.

Good luck!

Firstly, Yes if you stop eating of course you will feel dizzy. This is your body trying to tell you it needs nutrition. I suffer from depression and was reluctant like yourself to get help, as I was scared they would lock me away or something sinister like that. But its not always the case. They would usually only send you to a mental hospital (well here in Australia) if you admit you are going to harm yourself, or have planned or a planning your suicide. Your right cutting is not done for attention, as part of my depression I cut my wrists and body numerous times and it became a coping mechanism for myself when I became down or everything was to much to handle. I also wouldn't eat when I was down, as your emotions are far greater than that of the need to EAT. Cutting can become a serious habit and become what they call addictive. It isn't healthy for our body, as it can cause scars and infections, you should probably try and find an alternative. But coming from someone who has been in your shoes its usually easier said then done. It has been about two months now since i last cut. I do feel better for it. I try to keep myself busy with reading books on depression and self harm. there are quite alot of books out there.

Of course your not crazy. There are so many people of all ages experiencing the same as you ALL over the world. You aren't alone. And for those that may taunt you because of it, don't really understand the illness of DEPRESSION.

If you get yourself under control, build up the courage to see a professional, and start taking the right actions to build up your self esteem, courage and back on track yes you can be a teacher or a phycologist when you grow up. You can be anything you want if you put your mind to it! You are a beautiful person I am sure inside and out, and things just seem a little overwhelming for you right now. But I wish you the best of luck with everything. And please, let people that believe in you help you, they may save your life and you will one day be thank ful. TRUST ME.

If you don't eat, then yes, that's why you feel dizzy.
You should feel very lucky to have so many people care about you!
What you should do...definitely talk to a therapist, school counselor, teacher, parents or doctor. It sounds like you definitely need help. Even if you end up hospitalized at least you'd be getting help.
Starving yourself will make you feel very dizzy, light headed and confused.
People who cut are trying to cope with life. Some people do cut for attention, but the majority of cutters are just trying to cope with the stress that life brings.
If you cut, you can still be whatever you want later on in life! But, you have to get your life on track and work hard at your goals. If you're a cheerleader and great student, you should realize that you need to seek some help. Starving yourself will affect your schooling and your cheerleading status.....
My advice.........have a serious talk with the people around you. Show them your cuts and tell them what you said here. The people around you will help you, if you let them.

Good luck!

I am anorexic and well, you sound just like I did a few years ago. Let me tell you that if you don't want to get better, you won't. I almost died from starving myself and have been force fed many times. I also have permanent scars from cutting. I know how annoying people can be-it's messed me up. I hate doctors and therapists. Oh, and I've been to a mental hospital. I'm not trying to scare you; I'm just telling you what may happen to you.

I understand the reluctance to talk to a professional. But please keep in mind: they are trained to perceive when you're thinking straight & when you aren't. We ourselves can't always see it. ...also, you do have some say in who you talk to. You can ask for a different counselor, or maybe your family's insurance plan has a telephone counseling service you can call. I did that for several months & it really helped me. It also helped just to know I could cal someone anytime. I actually took notes on the advice he gave me, & carried them around with me. it helped.
please tell someone.
