the best thing that you can do to improve gas mileage is change your driving habits. drive easier, less stop and go, and more gentle starts.
as far as mileage & performance, the two are polar opposites. the more performance out of a vehicle, the less mileage.
popular mechanics did a test on all the different product that claim to boost mileage-the result:no worked, and some actually DECREASED mileage. the facts of an internal combustion engine are simple:they burn close to 99% of fuel in the combustion chamber. even if you could get that to 100%, you would only increase your mileage by 1%, which is not even noticable. under inflated tires decrease mileage by more than 1%.
bottom line:
drive slower & steadier, with out the hard starts, and keep you vehicle tuned up, and thats the best you can do.

Boosting gas mileage and improving performance are conflicting exercises. Best to choose one or the other, plus keep your car in good tune, drive your car gently and with care, avoid collisions with birds, animals, cars and people; maintain your car's specified maintenance services, be alert, courteous, and keep you foot off the gas pedal and brakes as much as possible. OR: PARK IT!
