We haven't heard from my nephew in over a year. The last we knew he was stationed in Guam. How can we get in touch with him?

other than the locater service that was mentioned in the first reply, there is nothing else you can do. And anyone who offers to use their own contacts to look up a name, address or email address is guilty of Violating PERSEC. Only immediate family members are authorized to receive this information, and in order to get it, they must have the full name rank and social security number of the person they wish to contact.

The US Navy's locator service helps locate individuals on active duty and those whose service ended less than a year ago. In addition, the US Navy will forward letters as long as the correct postage is affixed to the envelope. You can call the locator service at 1-901-874-3388. Unless you are active military, local or federal government, or a family member, the fee for researching an address is US$ 3.50 per address. Fees are retained in cases resulting in an unsuccessful search or for unreleasable addresses. Mail your correspondence with your fee, check or money order payable to United States Treasurer, to the following address:

World Wide Locator
Bureau of Naval Personnel
PERS 312F
5720 Integrity Drive
Millington, TN 38055-3120

There is also some related information in the "US Navy Frequently Asked Questions" section on:

Shoot me a email. Don't go thru that stuff of paying half the time it takes forever to get the Worldwide locators up to date anyway. Shoot me a email with his name and I will either find it myself or I will call my friend in the who is a Officer in the Navy to do it. I used to be in the Army and know lots of Navy people as well and still have several contacts in Both Services
