That's a very general question... I'm certain most homeschoolers don't believe they're better than anyone else.
However I certainly believe that homeschooling has many advantages over public schooling today because the smarter children aren't held back by the "no child left behind" mentality that causes some public schools to lower standards to the rock bottom rather than demand more from their teachers and students.
I happen to know a great many people who either were or are homeschooled. Most of them are very intelligent and do very well in college and in their career field. The primary argument is that homeschooled persons are socially immature. This, again, is a very general statement and is not generally true.

I don't know. If so, it goes both ways. I know that homeschooled kids get the impression that public school kids think they're better than homeschooled kids. In fact, I know homeschooled kids who got snubbed by public schooled kids only because they 'found out' that the kids were homeschooled.

It depends on the person, some do and some don't.
When I was home schooled I didn't think I was any better then public schooled kids.
Some of the kids in my home school group thought they were better just because they were home schooled. Talk about stereotyping. But thankfully not all of them thought that.
From what I observe it looks to me as though it's the parents who are doing this thing of "who's better", it's not the kids.
It's the same on both sides, some home schooling parents will try to find anything wrong with public schooled children. And some parents who send their children to public school do the same thing about home schoolers.
A lot kids both home schooled and public schooled seem to get along, it's the parents who seem to be competing on "who better".
P.S. Not all people do this but lots do.

The children's attitudes are a reflection of their parents. However, studies show that one-on-one instruction is much more beneficial than the typical 1:20 ratio of the public school classroom. If homeschooling is done properly, students can get a better education than a typical public school education.
Whether that makes them "better" than public school students is nothing more than opinion.

homeschooler aren't "better", but they most likely are smarter, because of a one-on-one teaching method and being taught by someone who cares more about you than your teacher(your mother) also, homeschoolers are able to take breaks when they find it most convienent. Public schools are a really a negative influence on kids, peer pressure, being "cool", and broken hearts can get in the way of your studying.

I don't think homeschoolers necessarily think *they* are "better" than public schoolers but I'd bet at some point the realization that their parents are willing to go to the extra effort to ensure an individualized, perhaps "better", education is given to them does sink in. Maybe that's the general vibe and you are misreading it.

well 4 one I don't in fact I really want to go to public school but my mom is keeping me @ home so you really shouldn't think that all homeschoolers the same, its like saying that all public school kids have the same attitude and opinion which I know is not true.

We homeschool. I don't think my kids are better or smarter than anyone else. They don't even think of people in terms of better or smarter. People are just who they are.
Seems like you have generalized all of us...in an attempt to deny a generalization you imagine exists.

My son is homeschooled (12th grade) and all of his friends go to public school, he doesn't think that he's better than they are.
