5 years old at tesco

Why should I have to walk across the supermarket car park in the pouring rain because some slapper has a kid. It is discrimination to say Mother and Baby and not parent. I pay tax too and if the supermarket wants my business they will do away with this nonsense. I always point out that I do have children, all 5,000,000 million of them swimming....

I don't have a baby and I park in them all the time. Those bays are nothing but a form of discrimination. Having a baby is not a disability. You can park in the main lot just like the rest of us,
put your baby in a stroller and walk. If you just had a baby you could probably use the exercise anyway.
And no, I don't park in the handicapped bays...that's a legitimate advantage the disabled should have. Especially if they have a large van.

Well judging by some of the inconsiderate lazy b*stards that park in the mother and baby bays at my local tesco I would say 50.

As I was struggling with 4 young children from the bottom end of the car park I asked a pair of pensioners just getting back into their Rover 200 in the mother & baby bays why they were parked there. The old boy just looked at me and told me to f*ck off.

Just goes to show that as you get older you don't become less of a tw*t. In fact you just become a more miserable, sad, useless tw*t.

You need to have a child to park in those spaces???

Well my child is minus 9 months so I'll just carry on using them!

When lazy mothers stop driving 100 yards along the road to pick up their offspring from school blocking off every road round the about then I'll listen to them. Until then they can park at the far end of the supermarket car park and give their obese children a walk.

PS, I think the two pensioners mentioned probably needed the space more than a mother with her brood of brats.

Well if you can get one ,id say 5 yrs old, when its safe for them to get to the car holding your hand.

My daughter has a 4yr old and baby twins and can hardly ever get a mother and baby space, its a nightmare.

They are not just there so you are nearer the shop anyway ,they have more space round them to put the trolley at the side of the car to put the babies straight in so they dont run away.

A lot of people dont realise that and just park in them ,if only they knew how difficult it is shopping with babies when you have got no choice but to do so.

They're "Parent and Child" bays, not "mother and baby".
No age specified, but should these bays be provided in the first place?.......parenthood may be a hindrance but certainly not a disability.
Leave the brat at home and enjoy some peace and quiet while not imposing misbehaviour on other shoppers.

i wood say up til about 8-10 yrs old.even though they are older and can walk sensibly, you still never no what a driver might do like swerve or crash etc.ive got 6,4,1 yr old boys and i still park in them. if anyone has got any problems with that then they can stick it where the sun dont shine! dont worry park there for as long as your child is with you.its all about their saftey after all.

oh and that reminds me. i really hate it when the old people park in the parent and toddler bays coz they are to blind to see its not a disabilty bay.

I don't think there is an age restriction, if your child still needs the extra protection this provides that's the criteria. It allows more room for your push chair etc. when you don't need them you shouldn't need the special parking area.
