I was 39 when I conceived my son and everything went fine. Women are having babies later and later now. Remember Connie Chung the news presenter had her first at 45, I think. Some granny in Russia or somewhere just had one at 65!!! (But I think that's ridiculous.) At 36 you should be fine, but I would recommend getting an amniocentesis just to be sure (usually done at 14 weeks gestation).

There is really no age limit to childbearing. My ex-wife had our last child at the age of 35. However, the older you are the higher the risk of complications are.

Here's my thought on this. If your 'man' doesn't have any kids... and I'm assuming he's older than 36... does he really want or need kids now? I would have to wonder why the push for a child? If he's in your life then he should be a step dad to your child. How does he fill this role? If not very good, the I would suspect his role as a dad would be in question as well. Are the interest in another child just to 'keep a relationship'? If so the don't have one... that's not reason enough.

Your 'man' should keep in mind that if he has a child at age 40.. he will be 58 by the time the child is 18. That puts him in his late 50's and slowing down physically at a time the child will be in their prime physical years. If I were him I would seriously consider that fact before creating an environment where the child will not have the active father they need in their most formative years.

But again, to answer the question... there is really no age limit just a higher risk of complications as you get older. Consult with your OB/GYN before you 'leap into' another child.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

I was 36 when I got pregnant for the first time. Here I was thinking "wow am I ready to have kids?" and my doctor started talking about my advanced age and my "high-risk pregnancy". Don't let it deter you!!

The good news is that over 35, your insurance will cover the additional testing you may want. I skipped the amnio (a larger risk of miscarriage than you have a risk of birth defects). There is a new test called First Trimester Screening, which is done at 13 1/2 weeks. It uses an ultrasound to measure the fat on the baby's neck and combined with a blood test from you, can determine the risks for certain defects.

Other than retaining enough water to fill a lake, I had a text-book perfect pregnancy far easier than some of my younger friends! I delivered a healthy 8 pound 9 ounce boy, with no epidural.

Becoming a parent at any age has its unique advantages & disadvantages and it's a choice only you can make.

I don't think there is any age limit...unless you've had your menopause yet...after 35, the difference is that your baby is more at risk to have Down Syndrome...
There is a test (prenatal test), done between the 11 and 13 th week of gestation, that is non intrusive (blood test and ultrasound) that gives you the chances (in %) that your baby could have down syndrome...if the % is too high you Doctor will ask you if you want an amniocentesis..that is intrusive...but people I know that did that had no problems...
But usually when you are past 35 and pregnant...at your fist Doctor appointment, he will ask you if you want to do all those tests...
Other than that...from what I've been told (I'm 31 and 3 kids...) from my friends that had kids older (+/- 40) it take up more of your energy the older you get...so I wouldn't wait too long...
good luck!

the respond is for specific yet i'll make it easier to be attentive to why. The early church believed that we are born with a unfastened will and now not with a sin nature which makes us sin. subsequently up until Augustine invented the advice there was no downside. at present day Christians are divided in this sin nature subject because of the fact the Roman Catholic church took Augustine's area in the Pelagian debate. Luther became as quickly as an Augustinian monk and Calvin became as quickly as an Augustinian plagiarists. actual that those variety of churches persist with teen Baptism and think of roughly in case you're actually not baptized to eliminate the sin nature your not stored. Catholics are actually not in a position to be buried interior the equivalent cemetary if not baptized. in spite of the fact that that could be a incorrect advice of sin that has led them and others down this direction. Calvinist translators even presented the word sin nature into the NIV of the bible that is not in all probability interior the same old textual content cloth. Heaven is a topic of progression purely like right here. thus childrens proceed to mature and improve there additionally counseled by technique of way of angels.

My mother just had another child, last month. I'm 34, my brother is 30, my sisters are 27 and 3 weeks old.
My mother was 55 when she gave birth to my new baby sister.
My husband is 50. We had our 1st child 3 years ago.
I heard in the news about a 65 year old woman having twins.
Age really doesn't matter.

There isn't really an age a woman can't get pregnate except at the change of life time. (which varies from female to female)

Any pregnancy over the age over 40 does have risk. Downs syndrom beeing just one of them. Although with testing, you can lower that risk.

At 36, you should have no problems.

My mother had my only sister at 39, and only 8 days away from 40. We were pregnant at same time(seriously) my first. She had my healthy sister in sept 97 and my girl was born in dec 97. As long as you are healthy I don't see a problem with it, but talk to your ob. Good Luck.

Talk to your doctor...I think 40 is about the limit, but my Mom had my youngest sister at 44 years old, and she is healthy and fine.
