Well, I professionally don't know but I can assume. I believe that everything in sight is beauty that can be captured. But I believe once you get to the point of vulgarity...vulgar positions or murder...that it has gone too far.

Example: The Naked body

Vulgar: Playboy or Hustler

Not Vulgar: Capturing an image of a beautiful woman in action of getting ready for a party or underwater swimming.

Something of that nature.

Hope this helps.

If you want the technical definition you will have to go to a photography website, ethics means "the rules or standards of conduct governing the conduct of the members of a profession,"
it means making choices, apply that to the profession of photography and what do you get? I don't exactly know but it sounds like adhering to certain standards of ethical behaviour. Who decides what those standards are? There must be some kind of governing body that comes up with a loose set of standards regaurding an individuals right to privacy, age of consent, ethical business practices, photo shoots, common sense stuff I guess.

Photographic ethics, to me means either producing, an honest image, one that has not been altered more that a little cropping for composition, and color correction, or producing an image that is clearly marked as altered. Ethics also means you don't put anybody in danger to capture an image. Ethics also means you know the laws regarding your craft, and respect them. You get proper releases when necessary. You get permission to photograph when on private property. You use a photograph as originally intended, and don't use it to embarrass, or defame any subject, be it a person, or property. It also means you know your rights concerning your craft, and are ready to defend those rights, as you would any other right.
Good luck in class

Ethics in photography to me means:

a) expressing your art that way you want to as long as you use taste. I agree with James' comment above.

A woman, for example, elegantly posed to show her outer beauty. Not having her exposing her "cookies" for everyone to stare at.

b) being professional and keeping work and play at two different spectrums.
