Unfortunately, there is no cure for eczema. I have had it all of my life. Fortunately it comes and goes, and there are long periods without it. Everyone is affected differently, so you'll need to see a dermatologist to find something that will work for you!

I have a 7 month old too with eczema! It sounds like your son has eczema as well. My daughter has it all over her body and the doctor say it is one of the more severe cases he has seen in awhile. Poor kid is so miserable. So this has been a huge motivating factor in figuring out what to do for her. First off, some triggers of eczema that I have experienced and/or read about. 1) Heat, when she gets warm, it flares up. If she is warm and then cools off too quickly, it flares up. 2) Fragrances, can trigger a flare up. 3) Foods can also be triggers but at this age it's hard to tell. 4) Fiber content of clothing. Solutions that have seemed to help her are: 1) Keeping her cool and using a cool mist humidifier to bring up the humidity in her bedroom. I use a Vicks humidifier. I also have a fan in her room that I turn on at nap time and nighttime because she tends to get warm when she sleeps and this helps regulate her temperature better. 2) I have stopped using just about anything with fragrances on her. The Dove sensitive skin soap is good. I use the ALL free and clear laundry soap and don't use dryer sheets anymore. For moisturizer I use CeraVe which I have found works great on her skin. I have tried the Eucerin but that didn't work nearly as well as CeraVe. Basically at every diaper change I moisturize the heck out of her. I also use a cortisone 1% cream (very sparingly) on the areas that flare up really badly and only use it for a few days until the flare up has gone down. 3) I only dress her in cotton clothes and make sure her blankets and crib sheets are made out of 100% cotton. This really does make a difference because synthetic fibers can make you warmer and aren't great for keeping cool. 4) On days where she is just absolutely miserable I have given her children's dye free Benadryl to help her be more comfortable especially at night time. Hope this helps some. The good news is that there is a good chance your son may outgrow his eczema. I wish you the best.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

I know you've heard "there is no cure", but I used to suffer from eczema, as do many in my family and after countless visits to dermatoligists with mixed success I found the cure naturally on my own. It may be worth it to investigate mostly what you're eating. I solved mine by: upping my omegas (salmon, flaxseed, evening primrose, etc) in both natural and supplement forms, also limiting dairy, sugar and wheat. I also made sure to use gentle skin products, drink plenty of water and also incorporate coconut oil into my daily diet. The only downside is that it takes about 3 months of consistency to see results in your skin, but you should feel much much better about 2-3 weeks in. I'm now in school for holistic health, let me know if you've any other questions. Best of luck!

My son uses Triamicinolone (TMC) compounded with Eucerin cream. Must be compounded at a pharmacy. Can not be used for more than about a week straight because it can cause the skin to thin. Great stuff though!

There is no know cure. You manage it by using the creams and the instructions the doc gives you. I know it sucks to have a skin condition, I have one and I use my meds and I manage it pretty well. Do some research on it and educate yourself about the condition so you know what some of the possible triggers are so that you can avoid them and your life may be a little easier. Happy New Year.

well my grandmother and mother cured people having eczema by birth. but now india has no such herbs. i feel sorry for u. but i can give u one good suggestion. if u put in efforts u could visit ayurvedic or siddha vaidya doctors in bangalore or chennai both south india, and they give you external and internal medicies to cure permanently. but it does not work like your steriod creams. it takes time, but once gone does not come again. for sure
