It took me forever to get over my first love, so I was just wondering if anyone else had it as bad?

It took me a few months. And initially I thought I'd never be over him. You learn so much from your first love, espeically when you're together a long time.
Some days I couldnt see myself with anyone else.
But eventually I got him out of my system, and met someone else- and 20 months later Im happier than ever, and realised love this time is deeper and more mature than the first. It just takes time

When and if you really love some one it always takes a long time. First loves are the worst. It took me a really long time to get over him. It doesn't get easy.

Most women that I have asked that question to say that they still have feelings for their first love. I do, I am still in touch with my first love and met him again after 20 years, and my tummy did do a tumble. I would never give up my life now because I love my husband, but I think it is fine to still have love for a first love or a special love even after it is all done and dusted as long as it does not stop you from moving on with your life.

It took me a year. Very rough year for me, we spoke once (after a year) for Closure and never again. I think about him and dream about him from time to time and I actually thought he was going to be the one, yet he didn't feel that way about me.
This was 3 years ago. I'm a different person now, so if I were to run into him or start talking to him again I definetly wouldn't feel the same about him.

I hate to say it but if you really love them then u might not ever get over it.I mean i have broken up with my ex for over 3 years now and i still cant get over it,and she cant either.So from my point of veiw i would say no because they will always be in your heart no matter if its good or bad.

It takes awhile but make sure you remember the good times. A first love is very special.

i don't think you get over something like that, I think you move on, change the way you think feel about things & start distancing yourself from that person. Love is a hard thing though no lie! Glad you feel better noW!

it took me about three years, you arent the only one , it just means you really loved him. i only got over my first love, when i met someone else that i cared for even more
