not at all twice a week is pretty good though it varies for your level of ability. try mixing it up to work some new muscles though

No. A typical routine would include an upper body exercise routine 2x a week and lower body exercises 2x a week, up to a maximum of 5x a week, between 45 minutes to an hour and a half (or more if you're working towards a specific goal) each session. That said, it really depends on how long you're working out, and the number of reps. If by "twice a week" you mean 8 hours a day, twice a week, then I'd call that overtraining!

3-4 times a week is ideal, each time focusing on single muscle area (arms and back, legs, or shoulders and chest) and doing light exercises for the other areas, and abs. 2 times sounds good enough.
However, if your muscles are burning days after working out, or you tore a muscle, you are probably working out too long or using weights that are too heavy. Try using lower weights and more reps in the beginning, to prevent tears in the muscles and inflammation, then gradually go up.
