One of my favorite books that is all about this subject is
Why Men Love Bitches: From Doormat to Dreamgirl-A Woman's Guide to Holding Her Own in a Relationship by Sherry Argov
One word of caution though. There is a fine line between coming off as hard to get and not being interested.
I believe that guys do like a bit of challenge when courting a new girl, but if they are regularly unavailable or hard to reach, it shows they just don't like you.

No that is not a bad thing because you don't want to make yourself an easy target if you know what I mean.... But play hard to get is one good way of making a guy work for want he wants and if he is hasn't given up and he is still trying then that proves that he is really interrested in you so play as hard as you can thats the only way to find the right one, but not to hard cause there are limits.

i honestly think... in the long run.. its GOOD.
it keeps the guy on the edge, and very curious about you.
he also gets more anxious and wants to get to know u better as well. any guy would say this is annoying, bad, stupid, etc. but that is just because it works! and guys hate this... because then we are in control and they are the ones doing the chasing. but i wouldnt take it too far; however, because you don't want to mess things up and be too distant. so if you plan on playing hard to get, keep it subtle and play it down. good luck girl ;)

You will never have an honest relationship based on trust if you build it on lies and games. What goes around comes around (I know, cliche) and being unavailable not only makes you petty and naive, it makes the person you're playing games with defensive and guarded. Be careful. There are no rules to falling in love, so trust in your real self to attract the right kind of man.

I suppose making it worth the effort can't be too bad. Just make sure you're not caught in your own game: he thinks that you're not interested and loses interest.
Beside, how would you adapt to be your real self once you're together?
Anyway, good luck.
Just don't play with anybody's feelings.

its bad
also, i think that the game playing is so old. the only real advice i could give, is to make sure it is a 50-50, or give and take. he calls you, you call him, and not always one sided. that gets old so fast with one person always doing the bulk of the work. so just make sure both people are doing the right thing, and all should work out just fine!

Good, very good. Don`t make yourself too available and easy girl! If they`re interested they`ll play the game! If they can`t be bothered they`re not worth it. It`s only for the initial chase after all.

You play games then guys play games.
When I'm dealing with a girl who plays games, I have no reason to be honest with her or take her seriously. The moment you do this you make yourself one thing: a mere peice of a ss never to be taken seriously.
