My ex-gf, just got online on msn, it's the new year ..but, she didn't start the conversation ..it's been 30mns since she's on, she said nothing to me...should I start it , by saying happy new year or say nothing at all ...?

Was it a good ending to the relationship? If not, then leave her alone and stop trippin. If so, then maybe she's just talking to someone else right now. Some people do have other friends you know...HAHA. Or she could be waiting for you to make the first move. A nice Happy New Year couldn't hurt.

I would send one message:
Hey, I'm about to run out, but I just wanted to wish you a happy new year"
Then sign off or change status to away for a little while.
That way you've thrown the ball into her court, and saved yourself from some awkward conversation a half hour into seeing each other online.

Why not wish her a happy one. If she wants to respond she will do so. If she doesn't she won't, but at least you've tried to communicate with her. Who know even though you could not work things out as a couple you may end up good friends, something we can never have enough of.

you start the conversation girls like that and say happy new year ask her how she is doing ask her how her day went ask her things that would have her respond back fast tell her stuff that would make her smile

She's an EX, drop her off your messenger group. Instead send her an email greeting. If she responds, fine, but still drop her from your messenger list. You can always add her back if the relationship flickers again.
