I have to agree with Newton, the concept of Trinity is probably the most ridiculous idea early Christians came up with.

Another poster refered to Newton being a follower of the Arian philosophy and I want to clarify that it is indeed Arian and not Aryan.
There was nothing novel about Newton's rejection of the trinity or the divinity of Jesus. People had been burned at the stake for having those ideas for a long time before Newton. The ideas of Arius predate the Council of Nicea and thus have been around longer than the New Testament as we know it.

Newton was a heretic but only to the orthodox; he was a theological dissident but he was also a devoted believer.

Newton subscribed to Arian philosophy or belief. They do not believe in the trinity and believe that Jesus is something more than a man but less than God or divine.

I am not sure about Newton but true Christians believe (like him if he does), that Jesus is not a part of God but a different person, that is why he is called the Son of God...the one sent forth by God the Father. A sender and the one sent are two different 'entities.'
The trinity teaching/triune god are pagan in nature but modern day believers has put a twist to it. They can memorize what it is about but cannot really comprehend compared to God being the Father of Jesus, the one who was in heaven whom Jesus prayed to and the one who said during Jesus baptism 'This is my son, to whom I am pleased.' The holy spirit not a person but God's force/power in executing his purposes (creation, Jesus miracles).
Jesus being God's son share the qualities and so he is called mighty god, but only God the Father is reffered to as Almighty God. That was why only him knows the 'hour.' (Mark 13:32 )

Ok, great. Now, so what? Did you have a question? A statement? What is your point? A genius came to the conclusion that the trinity and the idea of Jesus being God was incorrect? Wow. Amazing. So what else is new.
