We're staying in a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tennessee for our honeymoon in Sept. 2007

I believe that Niagara Falls is a beautiful place to honeymoon anytime of year. But September would be a great month as some of the trees would be starting to change and Ontario is a wonderful and friendly province.

Depending on where you want to go you may want to do Europe or something inland or on the west coast. September is typically the most active part of the atlantic hurricane season with the middle part being the peak. You would save money and many places offer hurricane guarentees (they will allow you to come back another time for x # of nights) but I personally wouldn't want to spend my honeymoon trapped in a hurricane shelter. Granted you can't predict natural disasters but there tends to be patterns!

Are you wanting a beachy type honeymoon or are you open to a mountain retreat!? We went to the Smokey Mountains in Gatlinburg for our Honeymoon in October and it was awesome. They said in September it's amazing because that's when the leaves begin to change colors!
So my suggestion, the mountains. It's already beginning to cool down and everythings starting to turn to fall! Get a cabin in the mountains with a hot tub in the bedroom and a private one out on the deck. Drink some champagne while sitting int he hot tub overlooking the mountains!
Plus there is plenty to do when you want to get out and about in town!

Hawaii is just about perfect in September. Walt Disney World is good, as long as it is after Labor Day (most kids are back in school).

A guest house in the White Mountains of NH, Burlington VT or Cape Cod MA are all wonderful in the fall....lots of things to do and lot's of chance for privacy and 'alone time.'

I would say the Buccaneer Resort in St. Croix, USVI. It might be more fun to go there in winter though, because it's in the Carribean. Maybe somewhere in Florida? You could go to the Keys. Then there's always Hawaii.
