How do you get rid of ulcers in your mouth besides putting salt on them?

There's a medicine that your dentist can presribe for you. I don't recall the name of it, but it's really gritty. It got rid of a place in my mouth overnight.

Well, I didn't believe the old wives tale, but you can go to the spice aisle and buy Alum, I had a huge ulcer in my mouth and it wouldn't go away.
I put a little alum on the ulcer and held it on there for a few minutes. It does burn like the devil and tastes bitter. But by the next day it was healing up and by the 4th day it was gone completely! I will never suffer that long again!
