I weigh a lot more now than my last appt. about a year ago. I am 14 years old, and I just need some healthy, unharmful ways to lose some spare weight by January 16th.

Oh sweetheart, I feel for you. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Anyway, drink a lot of water. Replace juice with water and eat a lot of foods with high fiber (helps you go to the bathroom if you know what I mean). Also, lots of fruits and vegetables, less or no packaged snacks. Everything should be fresh. Also, try smaller meal portions. All these are healthy and safe. Some exercise wouldn't hurt eiter. Good Luck. Try keeping these eating habits up after the appointment too. You'll be fine, don't worry.

Why do you want to lose weight? It's a doctor!! They've seen it ALL before, they won't judge you on something like that, if they do, I highly suggest changing doctor!! And are you sure you want to be suddenly changing your physical state just before a doctor's app??? Isn't the point of seeing a doctor getting a truthful analysis of your health??
But... you asked a qustion and I'm here to answer.
It's very normal for a teenager's weight to fluctuate - but to keep it under control in a way for you to like, just watch what you eat. Not go crazy - just increase your fruit and vegetables, decrease your junk food, sugars and the like. Take advantage of the fresh air and walk, run or bike outside after school and on the weekend, and actively participate in school sport!!!!
And then keep this up and you'll have muh more positive effects on both your physical and mental health!!

Loosing weight is a good idea. However, it needs to be a long term goal rather than a quick fix so you won't get admonished by your doctor. The truth is that in order for your doctor to give you good advice you have to be honest with him/her. If you have a weight problem talk with the doctor about the best way to deal with it.

well you shouldn't do it for your doctor. an unharmful way of losing weight woudl make you lose 2 pounds a week, and i have a feeling that would not be enough.
why don't you ask your doctor how to lose weight, he could recommend you a diet depending on your current state, height, age, habits,et.c

Hi there, it all depends on your current weight and what you have consummed to get to your current size and weight. Everyones matabalism is different.

If it was me and i had to loose weight quick, i would eat lots of fruit and veg, white meat and fish, do not miss meals, eat little bits often. When you starve your body it will automatically store fat to survive.
Drink lots of water, avoid fizzy pop, sauce's and potatoes/crisps.

Good luck x

Why would you need to lose weight before a doctor's appointment? Let the doctor help you learn how to lose weight. It's not like the doctor's going to say to your parents "Whoa, this kid put on a few pounds--you should put him to sleep."

Eat a bowl of Special K cereal for every meal except dinner (eat something healty, not a lot of carbs..ie bread, pasta, rice ect...) try not to snack between meals, if you are going to, eat yogurt or fruit. Drink lots of water. You should be able to lose about 8-10lbs in two weeks.

I agree with godlust7 and you should be honest with him. But you can lose weight and it will be hard because and average person loses about 5 pounds a week. You should try and drink alot of water, excersize, and eat aboslutely NO sweets. You know all of this stuff and you should know all of this stuff but you are just to lazy to do it.......................................

24 ounces of milk a day. in 8 ounce incriments. a glass with each meal will help you to feel full... and keep feeling full... for much longer. couple that with crunches, and you should burn off at least 10 pounds.

Do as many sit ups as you can every morning and night. Try reaching 100. I know it sounds crazy but its not that bad. Try eating healthy like sandwhiches and things like that. Good Luck you can do it.
