I am in pain, had the four holes --scopic surgery but am in pain, have a hard time moving around and I even hurt coughing. What good can I expect as well as the bad? When will I be up and running again? I want to be my old self again? I am exhausted and need some honest opinions and true experiences from others who have experienced it or know people who have?

laproscopic surgery can be very painful afterwards due to the air that the put in your abdomen to help the surgeons visualize the surgical field. its crazy that people dont get that driven home in pre-op teaching! i had a diagnostic laproscopy (only ONE hole) and i had gas pains in my back, shoulders, hell i even thought my feet hurt more! if i am not mistaken, the kind of pain you are having is caused by the gas they instilled into your abdomen causing irritation the diaphragm, which stimulates the phrenic nerve that serves the diaphragm, and radiates to other parts of your body. i would say you will feel worlds better tomorrow, and if not call your MD.

If you are in pain use the pain medicine the doctor prescribed. Take it routinely so that you keep the pain under control. Think of pain this way. Rate your pain now on a scale of 1-10 with one being almost no pain and 10 being the worst pain you have ever felt in your life. You want to keep your pain controlled at between a number 1-3 on the pain scale. If your pain is worse than that you need to increase your medication. Keeping your pain under control lets you move more easily so that you can get back to your old self sooner. If you are in pain you don't want to move as you are afraid it will hurt but if you keep the pain level down you won't be so afraid to move. Keep a pillow nearby so that when you need to cough you can splint your stomach so it doesn't hurt so bad. Take time to re read your discharge instructions because I get the impression you haven't looked at those yet and all this type of info should be in your discharge papers.

My sister was only 5 when she had this done- And as far as I can remember- she couldnt even laugh for the first 3 days or so (It would really hurt her) and even when she walked, she had to bend forward... I think all of this lasted about a week or so...
I wish I could give you better advice- but you should rest as much as possible- and you should be lying down with your head raised...
Good Luck and Take Care!!

I had this surgery done the same way about 6 years ago. I am pretty sure I felt a lot better within 3 days. Hang in there.

Last feb. i had that surgery, the first few days where very painfull, seemed any movement caused pain.
i would say within a week you will start feeling less pain and it will stop.
so for now take ibuprofen several times a day (6 hour gaps beetween) and you should walk abit also.
i know i had to take ibuprofen when i went to sleep.

Not lifting anything over 25 pds, is good thing. Listen to the doctor. You don't want to open up your wounds again. You need time to heal. Sorry never had the surgery, but I will pray for you and your situation.

A president can in easy terms get stuff executed if their celebration controls the two chambers of Congress. Obama has virtually no power surprising now, he lost the homestead in 2011. He in easy terms had finished power for 2 years. Bush, on the different hand, had finished power for 6 years, he did not lose Congress till 2007 (whilst the Democrats gained the two chambers). for this reason Bush is a lot worse than Obama and all of us comprehend it. He had six years to destroy united statesa.. i don't think of Obama destroyed something, yet whether you do, he in easy terms had 2 years of it.

ANY surgery, even minor procedures, can really take the wind out of your sails. Surgery is stressful. Give yourself a few days to recover, take your pain meds and all will be well.

Whatever you do, dont start laying around. It will cause you to develop all kinds of complications, so get up off the couch and move about. Take your pain pill about 1 hour before you decide to move about, so it doesnt hurt as much and get busy.
