not sure if knee supports will help? I think my trainers are quite decent but I have had them for a while. Any thoughts which might help?

I don't want to stop going to aerobics because I really enjoy it.

I have weak muscles in my knees and it bothers me a lot during exercise. Before you go and buy expensive knee supports, try using tubigrip. I use that and it's great, because it gives the knee enough flexibilty to move as well as supporting it. Make sure that you warm up well before exercising and that you cool down well afterwards.
Try this exercise - sit striaght up on a chair with your feet flat on the ground. Try to press your heels into the floor. Hold for 10 seconds, then relax. Repeat 5 times. This just generally builds up the muscle strength in your knees and thighs. If the problem dosen't fix after trying these suggestions, I'd go to your GP and be referred to a physiotherapist, and they'll figure out what the problem is and probabably give you some exercises to do. Good Luck!

I think that you will have to buy a new pair of trainers and before and after aerobics make sure that you have warmed up and stretched your muscle as that could be the problem

Knee supports will help if you are pulling sideways when you move (you'll know where it hurts - under the knee cap when you twist it). Or you may be 'shocking' it with the pressure down, in which case you could try a softer landing - maybe different shoes or use a gardening kneeler or something similar to step down on, or a thin exercise mat to use under foot.

buy new trainers they dont last long if your using them regularly, strech for longer before exercise to prepare your joints, and shop around for decent knee supports your trainer/ instructer should be able to suggest the best ones for you
