Fainting (syncope) or near syncope isn't generally a symptom of influenza. If this has happened to you more than once, it would be a good idea to have this evaulated by your primary care provider. Hypertension (high blood pressure and hypotension (low blood pressure) are NOT the only causes of syncope/lightheadeness. Sodium deficiency (hyponatremia) is not a cause.

It is not a symptom of the flu, yet you can faint during a flu. Its probably because you have low blood pressure or you havent eaten. It moght also be because you are really dizzy. If you are going to faint, I suggest lay on your bed and try to sleep or eat something. If this doesnt work, id talk to the doctor

Not always. I've never heard of fainting being a symptom of the flu. I faint quite often. In medical terms, fainting is usually a result of dehydration. Most of the time, fainting is just a product of malnourishment. Fainting isn't something big to worry about, unless you have high blood pressure. If you really are worried, talk to your doctor. But for me, fainting is usually a product of dehydration. To prevent fainting or lightheadedness, drink fluids frequently (not just soda). Also, if you feel yourself ready to pass out, sit down as quick as you can and bow your head. It will get rid of your lightheaded feeling. Cool air will also help the feeling go away.

I don't think that is a symptom of the flu. It sounds like your blood pressure gets really low and that it why you are fainting. Make sure you are eating and if you are still fainting I would go to the doctor!

This could be a symptom of many things, but blood pressure is one thing that will cause syncope. If faintly or dizzy spells persist, ask your doctor about a tilt table test. I have a condition known as vaso-depressor syncope. Basically, my brain sends "mixed-up" signals to my vascular system. My boold pressure will then drop so low that my brain doesn't get blood/oxygen, and I faint.

it could mean anything from not eating or drinking enough to being sick or even being pregnant. You need to watch for other signs and add them up to see what they all mean. I mean could you be pregnant then maybe you are, are you sneezing and coughing maybe its the flu, have you eaten today? look at the clues and check back with us with more info.
