okay i think that you're right.. a lot of people have missed the point. im a muslim and in our belief, every single human being's deeds in this lifetime will show up on the day of judgement. if you have done an atom's weight of good, you will see and so will your Lord. Likewise, the same goes for sins. We accept our prophet [Muhammad (peace be upon him)] as merely a man; a righteous man but a man nonetheless. We also believe that the prophet Jesus was a man, attempting to preach a singular message of One true God untill his message was later changed and corrupted and he was deemed God's son. Their roles, along with the other roles of many other prophets were to guide mankind to the straight path of worshipping one God alone; not 3, not 2, not any other number but 1. one infinite creator. They were only men and therefore had no power to die for our sins as that would be.. to put it simply unjust. No one can wash away our sins because we are apparently tainted. God created us so that we would be tempted and commit sins.. that was our purpose.. he didnt create us like he did the angels whom have no free will. that does not mean that it is okay to commit sins but that once we realise them, we must repent and by His mercy, He will forgive us. Forgiveness will not come to everyone who has been apparently saved but to those whom He chooses and He is the all - knowing and all - just is he not?

there was a design and and interferrance with creation problem we are all born with and those have power over us until the Spirit helps us get the upper hand. Some without the Spirits help can curb these fleshly drives so as not to damage many but even they fall prey to some and so we need the extra help of the Spirit and there is no non sinful reason not to ask for it.

I believe something does exist... but I'm not Christian. I don't get into the whole human sacrifice for my sins thing. I take full responsibility for everything I have done and said... good and bad. I don't hide from it. I don't try to sweep it under the rug. And I certainly don't try to pass it off on "Satan" or anyone else for the blame.... or to make myself "clean".

Isn't it worth more to take responsibility, actually correct the problem (or at least try to correct it) and then live life more fully with that knowledge... rather than saying "oops, I goofed up... oh well, it's ok so-n-so makes it all better cause he was tortured to death for me". Just sounds freaky to me.

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.

Beware of the Day when every soul shall find itself confronted with all the good it has done and all the evil it has done. It will wish there were a great distance between it and that evil. And god cautions you against His punishment. And Allah is Most Compassionate to His servants.

God burdens not any soul beyond its capacity. It shall have the reward it earns, and it shall get the punishment it incurs. Our Lord, do not punish us if we forget or fall into error, and our Lord, lay not on us a responsibility as Thou didst lay upon those before us. Our Lord, burden us not with what we have not the strength to bear; and efface our sins, and grant us forgiveness, and have mercy on us; Thou art our Master; so help us against the disbelieving people.

And guard yourselves against the day when no soul shall serve as a substitute for another soul at all, nor shall intercession be accepted for it, nor shall ransom be taken from it, nor shall they be helped.

Say, 'Shall I seek a Lord, other than God while He is the Lord of all things?' And no soul earns evil but only against itself; nor does any bearer of burden bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord will be your return, and He will inform you of that wherein you used to differ.

God gives us free will and we are responsible for our sins. Many people think that because Jesus died for our sins that mankind would never sin again. God knew we would because we are imperfect. Therefore, Christians by accepting Jesus as their Savior will be shown the way to God and Heaven.

Yes I believe that I am teh only one responsible for my sins but I am not worried about it because God has forgiven me and he can forgive you just the same. Just ask for his forgiveness and it is done and over for him he will never bring them up again. By then really is just you having to forgive yourself because fater ypou asked he had already forgot that you ever committed any sin.

Is Sin Inherited?

Do we inherit the guilt of the sins of Adam and our parents, or will we be accountable only for those sins which we personally commit? The Scriptures clearly teach that we must answer to God for our own sins rather than those of our ancestors. "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Rom. 14:12) "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." (II Cor. 5:10) "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Rom 3:23) Note that Paul teaches that we come short of God's glory through our own sins, not that we are born short through the mistakes of our forebears.

The doctrine that a baby is born with the stain of the sin of Adam and his parents upon him is known as "original sin". It concludes that a little baby who has never personally sinned is forever condemned to hell unless that infant is baptized. Neither the expression "original sin" nor the idea it represents is found in the Bible. God's word teaches the opposite. "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son." (Ezek. 18:20) In other words, a child is not accountable for his parents' sins.

This teaching fails to consider that sin is an act ("the transgression of the law" -- I John 3:4) and therefore not an inheritable trait. It may no more be inherited than cooking a meal or driving an automobile since these are acts rather than characteristics.

If babies were born sinners, Jesus would not have chosen them as examples for us to follow. "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." (Matt. 18:3) Surely Jesus is not exhorting His disciples to become like sin-blackened children doomed to everlasting punishment. We are the "offspring of God" (Acts 17:29) and our spirits have been given by God. (Ecc. 12:7) Were the doctrine of original sin true these passages would imply that we inherit original sin from God Himself which cannot be since God is perfect.

What then, do we inherit from our physical parents? We inherit their ability to know good and evil, and also the human weakness which in time causes us to sin. We do not inherit the guilt of Adam's transgressions nor that of our parents. Until a child is old enough to understand the meaning of sin, he is as pure in the sight of God as the freshly fallen winter snow.

Actually you have to understand it. First, God does indeed exist. Second, he did wash away your sins but when you knowingly and intentionly commit sin again, you are responsible. I believe this is really simple to understand.

when we are tempted, we sin. we can not stop sinning. it's in our blood. we are imperfect, incapable of saving ourselves. Christians don't use the excuse to sin cause Jesus died. If we live a life of sin, that's our fault for not stopping. that would alone be our fault.
