I am considering getting a tattoo for my 5th wedding anniversary. The 5th is generally the "wood" anniversary, so I would love it to be wood themed. I have thought about a tree, but that seems very general. Also, it will be small, the location TBD, all depending on the image.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. And, no, this wouldn't be his gift and it's not my first tattoo.

a flower with "five" petals and a "wood" stem/vine along the natural curve of your breast, arm, wrist, ankle, back, etc.

i too like some of the ideas with the tree and initials but, remember you will have many more anniversaries (hopefully)
and then what will you want to do to siginify those (i personally
think that each year you would want something even more significant) so do you go all out now with the tree idea (i'm sure you would want it to be a good size) or do you do something small and build on it as the years pass (excellent idea).

i even think doing a "family tree" since where talking about trees
would be cool maybe you can incorporate other things into your
tree in the form of the leaves or fruit or flowers, maybe heart shaped leaves that could hold a symbol or name of past and future anniversaries (kind of like the family trees with small picture frames hanging from the branches). i do think it would take some serious thought maybe you can make yourself a drawing of sort and think of things you want and see what it looks like on paper.

a collage of different things that mean something to both you and your husband would be cool.

oh and happy anniversary.

That is such a cool idea!! Before I tell you my idea, congradulations on your fitfth anniversary!!!!! lol. Okay, so my idea is that if you want to get a tattoo to do something with wood, stick with the tree idea, it is so unique. But, to make the tattoo even more special, i would have them tattoo a heart in the center of the tree with you and and hubbys initials!! i think personally that it would be so cool and speical. Hope i have helped you. Have a glamorous day!!!

I like sugarsweeti13's idea. I wanted to get a tat w/the letter L (Lauren-me), a Heart, then R (Robert-my b/f of 6 yrs) but I'm a lil scared. Thats the only thing that i would modify about her idea is (the initials part). The tree w/a heart is a good idea cause if by any chance something happens (hopefully not ever) its still a great tat. I could see alot of creativity happening there. Hope you have a great anniversary!! Good Luck!

Did you take a honeymoon? You could get a tattoo that has some kind of signifigance tied to that. I am going to get a crab tattooed on my back because we honeymooned in San Francisco. SO you could use a symbol like that and then the number 5. Or maybe something about your wedding that can be used as a symbol

Like everyone else, the tree idea is nice....represents your relationship continuing to grow....and the wood thing too. Depending on where you went on your honeymoon or something like that, you could make the tree something from there....ie....somewhere tropical, a palm tree even. That or just a type of tree that represents something special to the two of you.

Congrats and happy 5th!

um, is there anything wooden in your life that has a special meaning to you? you could get cherry blossoms with five flowers attached to a branch. i saw a similar tattoo done on miami ink and it turned out really well. it was done on the arm. good luck!

you could get a great tree depending on who does it and if it takes up the top of your back in the center it would be beautiful

a tree, with you and your partners names or initials "carved" in the trunk would be a nice choice IMO
another possibility would be text "your name" +"his name" or initials, and the number 5 all done in chunks of wood

well... trees are nice
it all depends on your imagination and preferences, when it comes to colors and shape.
good luck and happy aniversary!
