Because what will grow very nicely in one place ... that may fail/die in other place .......
Like a fish of running water can not servive in still water ....

Are you talking about biodiversity of humans in a place? Because an increase of biodiversity has its advantages and disadvantages. The most biodiverse locations are cities. If you are evaluating a new location to live, you may not want to live near a city... or you may not want to live in a diverse area. It's important for some people.
