my partner and I split up and he signed up on a number of different singles sites at that time. when we got back together I inadvertantly found out about the singles sites...and that he had communicated with the site while living in my home...he said he didnt correspond with a person but that the service was sending him false resjponses...that is what he responded to. he said he was bored while we were apart and that these sites dont mean anything.

Hmm.
He does sound very disinterested about it all now.
I do think he was bored, and trying to be a little spiteful at the time.
I would count it as cheating, but, technically, you were split up at the time, right?
So, no, in this case it wasn't cheating.
However, if he is still on the sites, and all that, while you are with him now, it is cheating.

Yes. There are various forms of cheating and this is one of them. The excuse of being bored is just that, an excuse. This will lead to other things and it will become a larger problem. He's not going to just check out the sites and not respond.

Boy , oh boy , sure isn't taking him long to replace you with someone else . That is not saying much for your relationship in general, busted up or not in your home even .
Take a good look and have a reality check . You need something better than this . It's up to you but I would ask him to leave and be done with it .

Looking at it in general kinda gives the idea that he wants someone else. He should know that himself before he even SIGNED UP.

And the false responses sounds like a lie.

Yes. When a person seeks some sort of gratification outside of the relationship, behind their partner's back, then they are cheating. And they know it, too. That's why they sneak and try to cover their tracks.

I'm sorry you had to find that out. :(

He was looking, which means he's not happy. Why waste time with someone who isn't right for you? You could be with the person who really makes you hppy and vice versa.

If he did it while you were separated, then it's none of your business. If he does it while you have a committment, then you need to figure out what is missing in your relationship that is making him look at possibilities elsewhere.

Single sites are for SINGLE people. If you're in a relationship, you are not single.

Ask him to delete/cancel his memberships, and watch him do it. Trust but verify. And that's the only fair chance you give him. But make sure you aren't misreading it and do what I asked you to do.

Your partner is not ready to involve himself in yourlife so if I were you, I would dump him, he is still looking for greener pastures.
