Either you PC is busy doing things in the background or the music was ripped from a scratched CD.

Your internet might be moving at a slower speed than the music. For instance, (made up numbers) your computer might be going 300KB/s while the music is trying to go 512KB/s. So the music has to stop, buffer, play, stop, buffer, play, and so on.

I found that when I downloaded this thing that showed the weather on my desktop it messed up the sound on my itunes. As soon as I unistalled this weatherbug thing my itunes worked fine.
