You didn't misread something. This is just like killing for peace or religious wars... She and her fellows filled his family's hearts with pain to press their religion onto them; two things God does not want us to do.
You know what? I bet she sins. But she doesn't expect anyone to come to her funeral with signs stating them loud and clear telling her that she's going to hell for them. Maybe this guy repented his sins... She doesn't know what she's talking about.
If anyone is going to hell, it's her. She's narrow-minded and had a Puritan Bible teacher. =)

Fred Phelps is not christian. his family is viewed as a cult. if you look on line about him you will find such disgusting behavior such as him beating his children with a mattock handle repeatedly and beating up other christians because they disagreed with him on his various beliefs. half of his family have left him. the rest are brain washed. he beat his wife and kids and now performs like this. in reality he's a lawyer as is almost everyone of his children and grandchildren. they perform these act to incite violence and then sue you for everything plus some.
not to mention his personal website. I won't post it here but you can find it in the expose that I am providing as my source. it answers this question much better than I can but it is quite exhaustive and long.

She IS speaking partly in truth, that God IS punishing our nation for disobedience, Do i think that she or they are going about it the right way? No,probably not. They feel that they are going to wake up someone by this action. I am not sure...
The problem here is that people do not like to hear the truth when it hurts or makes them accountable for their actions. The ones that are already dead, can not do anything about their actions now. who is it that they are speaking to? It made the news..this is probably what they want. Someone will get the message?? Time will tell i suppose.

The Bible has a lot of confusing and contradictory things in it....particularly as it relates to homosexuality...Remember it was written by humans with all the frailities, complexities and biases thereof.
As for the behavior of these people, I found it repugnant!

It's amazing just how stupid some people can be as to say "Thank GOD for Dead Soldiers." Does this mean that I can say thank you to the Christian God for killing people who are trying to defend our country's freedoms? Or does it mean that I'm one of the smart ones who stopped believing in the Catholic/Christian faith years ago on a religious self-discovery quest to become a Buddhist? No God in any religion should condone this kind of behavior by His/Her followers.

That's what happens when you take the bible literally. If you use it as a guideline for better living, great. If you use it as a weapon to bash down people you don't like, you're an @$$hole.

I've seen that clip before. The bible doesn't teach it, but .... you know you have the right god when he hates all the same people you do.
With enough motivation, you can get your god to hate anyone that you hate.

That woman sends chills up my spine. She exemplifies all that is worst and most embarassing about the fundamentalists. Anyone who supports her kind of hatred is the lowest form of humanity imaginable.
