A lipoma is a benign tumour which does not usually cause any problems. They do, however, grow bigger and can sometimes interfere with other structures, like tendons and so on, without actually damaging them if you see what I mean.

Funny you should ask this question. I just had a rather large lipoma removed from my right upper leg, just above my knee. It had been there about 15 years and started out about the size of a pea. On November 6th the surgeon removed it and it was the size of a soda can. I am healing very nicely however, the lipoma was wrapped around a nerve in my leg and that was causing some major pain. They ended up having to cut the nerve and kill it to stop the pain but the relief has been great. My job requires I stand for 8 hours and I could no longer do it hence is why I had the surgery. So I would say if the lipoma is causing pain and problems, then by all means have it removed and don't wait. It is a benign growth and should not be prohibiting blood flow, etc., and if it is then should be taken care of. I totally regret waiting until the problem was a major one.

No - lipomas have no effect on blood circulation since they're located in soft tissue and not in blood vessels.

No lipomas are benign fat cell tumors often caused by a minor injury and only cause trouble if they interfere with muscle function, then they should be removed.

Yes. I've got one. Had it for donkey's years. Don't need to do anything about it, evidently, and it never really bothers me.
BUT, I am not a doctor and suggest a visit just in case.

Its nothing at all to worry about ,completely harmless.

If it gets too big ,have it removed.

it is a "fatty tumor". they are harmless, but most people have them removed when they are someplace visible.
