Building Wembley cost millions. Who would've liked to seen England continue playing at grounds around the country?

Do we need a "national stadium"?

Could the money been better spent, say, on grass roots football?

Would it have given people the chance to see England games, who, might never have been able to come down to London, especially kids?

Are our grounds around the country good enough to play international football in them?

as a queens park fan,
note no rangers papped on at the end!,
I think it is very acceptable to have a national stadium.
should be a prerequisite in Scottish soccer,
a 55000 seater stadium,
a museum,
indoor football pitch,
secure bus entry points,
lots of lights,
lots of loo's,
if you can't come up to our standard then you should just give up on fitbaw.
it's also my conspiracy theory for the mighty qp to get back up to the heady heights of top flight soccer.
so again yes national stadia is the way forward!

i think we needed the national stadium for cup finals, but it should of been somewhere in the centre of the country i.e. birmingham. And i feel it would of been better if England had continued to travel round the country so that everyone would have the chance to see England's so called finest.

the new wembley will be fantastic for finals etc,but england should definatly travel around the grounds, the atmosphere is far better at Anfield,Old Trafford etc, then more people would get a better chance of seeing them play too

i also enjoyed jimmy hill's soccer supplement. but you are perfectly right they dont need a national stadium, training ground yes, with an air field and small jet to fly to any where in the country, in the long run the whole thing would be cheaper than the big white elephant.
