whats the diff in a regular hair dryer and an ionic one?

Ionic styling tools are predominantly used for smoothing the cuticle layer of the hair strands. If you are looking to blow dry your hair with curl you wouldn't use an ionic product. If you want a smooth, sleek look then ionic products is what you would use to blow dry that style straight.

You can achieve the same smoothing action using a regular blow dryer and an ionic brush instead of spending more money for an ionic dryer. The same results will be achieved. Ionic brushes unlike the regular round barrel brushes don't retain heat.

Ionic is better for your hair.

Supposedly it creates more negative ions to dry hair faster. Have one but do not notice a difference.
