The Fair Credit Reporting Act [15 USC Section 1681c] says:

(2)...civil judgments...that from date of entry, antedate the report by more than seven years or until the governing statute of limitations has expired, whichever is the longer period.

So it's either 7 years or the SOL for your state, which in some cases is 10. Whichever is longer...I would check the SOL for your state to be sure.

Krista, it depends on what the judgment is for.

If its abstract, 10yrs if they don't re-post;
If its real estate against property, not until RE is sold.
