kind gross... but three years ago I felt a lump in my underarm and just let it go until it kept getting bigger and the pain was unbearable. I went to the er and they said it started as a blocked hair follicle and by the time they cut it open it turned into a staph infection. My dr said that it was just something that happens to people and nothing could prevent it. well a couple months ago I got another one but got on antibiotics before it got bad and then a month later I got another one! I know that not eveyone gets these! how can they be prevented? very very painful!

It could be that your allergic to your deoderant as the lady below mentioned. It could also be that you are just predisposed to them. My family gets them a lot too...and I mean my whole family! It seems like they are genetic or something. Kinda sucks too!
