I have heard this too. It's because African-Americans are often from urban areas where police brutality directed at people with darker skin is not uncommon. So their experiences make them more readily identify with non-white people who are randomly gun down, especially by whites who have contempt for the "natives."
This is not to say that many white people are not deeply disturbed by what they see going on Iraq, but it is still a fact that too many whites still have deep layers of racism where they don't really believe that non-American/European peoples are really just as human as they are. Of course, these people are very often in total denial about it, too. But think about it. How many white people will go berserk with grief about the murder of one blond white girl (like JonBenet Ramsey) but just shrug if the news says that 4 6-year-old Iraqi girls were killed by a mortar round?

First of all, this should be written like this: Dear Americans: Why do the African American soldiers show more sympathy to Iraqi victims of war than do the English Americans, Irish Americans, Scottish Americans,Russian Americans, Swedish Americans, German Americans, French Americans, Greek Americans, Roman Americans, (Have I left anyone out?).
The African Americans are Christians, too, but with more sensitive hearts than the English Americans, Irish Americans, Scottish Americans,Russian Americans, Swedish Americans, German Americans, French Americans, Greek Americans, Roman Americans.
And why don't you go to Iraq and do a study on this. Or if you already live there, go do a study, take pictures, interview witnesses, and have them sign documents. Then we'll talk.

You seem to be full of amazing facts and observations night after night, I truly enjoy reading your sub-moronic reasoning for all the evil deeds of the United States.
So, it seems black Americans are more sympathetic to you than white Americans…….Huh….
So, based on the fact that 16,791 Iraqi civilians were killed in 2006 by Islamic Terrorists, and only 154 Iraqi civilians were killed collaterally in incidents involving Americans
One can draw the conclusion based on your observations, as well as the hard cold facts on civilian death numbers, that black Americans are the most sympathetic. Coming in a close second on the most sympathetic scale would be white Americans, and lagging woefully behind on the sympathy scale would be your fellow Muslim brothers who have so Pathetically killed 16,791Iraqi civilians.
Thanks again for pointing out what a wonderful people we are, without people like you much of the good work that the US is doing in Iraq would go unnoticed.
I look forward to your next question.

Boy, what a racist question. To say that white Americans don't show as much sympathy is just personal propaganda on your behalf. Get a life and may God bless our troops, all of them!!
If you look at photos, it shows all races helping and having sympathy for the iraqi citizens. Your question is what keeps racism alive and it's people like you that I explain why racism is alive today.

Dear Friend,
I'm Italian . Our Italian soldier were in Nassiria with all Americans.
In our army there are soldiers coming from all parts of Italy. Do you think we are trying to see if some soldiers coming from South Italy are more friendly and polite towards Iraqi than people coming from North such as Milan or Turin?
I really don't want to hurt your way of thinking but i think your question is not so useful. We can talk about it if you want , but there isn't any logical asnwer.
Thanks.
Bye
Simon (from Milan).

As because of the similarity in skin colour,,, african american skin colour resembles ,,, al least match similar to Asians ( Iraqis) rather than white Americans--- I think this is the kind of question you probably wanted to ask, or the answer you're looking for.
C'mon-- wake up--- if you come up with such data , make sure you've the correct statistics and adequate references .

Their heritage is right there in that area of the world. We whites came from Europe thousands of miles away. We have less tolerance for murderous tyrannical dictators and their savage followers that hide behind religion and their women and children. To us, life is precious and not to be thrown away in a futile suicide bombing. Therefore we find no sympathy for abounding ignorance of that part of the Iraqi population. We love the good peoples of Iraq just as you do though and do cry for your losses.

I have served in OIF 1 which is the invasion and in OIF 3 and I haven't seen any different sympathies from one race to the other. In the Army, as I know of it the racial profiling that you talk of is a blur and we do not look at each other with eyes full of black and white yet with eyes full of green for in the Army we are all of that color. Yes, there are people that are just as ignorant in the Army that are raciest, just not as many, and those who stay in for a long period of time realize that this is a stupid vice put upon them from prior misconceptions of their childhood possibly through their upbringing.

Is this something you simply made up?
Hint: in the military the only skin color people see is: 'green.' (Or blue for the Navy and Air Force.)

I agree with what the first answerer said. Frankly, not all whites are Christian nor are all blacks. Generalizing shows your stoopiditiy.
