Is it a concern with being able too live or esp be employed there (speaking only english) reagarding laws on who can live there and for how long. Thanks Danno.

I think there is no problem when u live in HK eventhough u english.

Unless you are wanted by the law, most expats can stay almost forever. ( You can apply for extensions repeatedly ) But to find employment depends highly on your line of work.
The language is a minor issue. Many expats live in HK for years without bothering to learn one note of either Mandarin or Cantonese. But there are some inconveniences when you move about outside of the tourists areas and you'll lose out in bargain shoppings.

Cool choice. They just passed a law about no smoking and they are one of the top safest cities in the world. Which is really amazing, because it is so huge.

You should get a working permit. After that, do some research about getting a place to stay and a job. Just remember that, housing is expensive however, millions people in HK are able to get by and so can you.

I seriously suggest u learn cantonese or at the very very least, chinese. hong kong is a free country, any one can live there but please try to find a job before u apply for work permit.
