I have to agree with ya. I think that its brushed under the carpet. Someone made the comment that the white male still holds the power. When he is applying for a job - he is last on the totem pole - they get tax breaks for all of these other things (sex, race, etc). Why isn't that considered racism or possibly even sexist? People come to our country and get certain tax breaks that we don't get (and this is our country!) Or how about special college funds/scholarships that are set up for specific races - I wondered if they had one that was for white Americans only - how would other races react to that? I believe the first thing we would hear is discrimination. I just don't understand any of it. Why there has to such a huge difference. As long as we have even just so much as 1 differential (loan/tax break/jobs/scholarships) benefit out there - racism of any kind will exist. Its a shame. And I don't believe any discrimination is one sided - I believe its everywhere and to all races and sexes.
Oh and one more thing - I recently was helping my daughter with her 5th grade history work. White people here in early America were slaves to other white people also. Just something I never realized and I bet alot of other people don't either. I do not believe in slavery. Just a little tid bit that I thought I would share.

fourmorebeers makes a good point when he mentioned that there is alot of inner racial racism going on. I really haven't heard very much about racism towards whites, other than someone of another race thinking that, that white person is racist towards a person of another race. I trully think racism is a horrible thing and it is a learned behavior not something that you are born knowing.
It seems that lots of racism is kept going by white's however I coul dbe very wrong, and I sometimes think the most hated race in the world is blacks.

Lol guys the word, "Cracker" originated from the sound that the whips made, observed by the slaves. They refered to white people as crackers for this reason, to say they were evil through their treatment of others, i would only guess. People use the word now and don't even understand its history. Really in the modern age, I don't see the significance of caling a white person a cracker, it doesn't make sense. I'd rather be called a cracker then be called a ******.

I completely agree. Racism is racism whether it is directed to minority races or majority races. We were called cracker all the time in high school by black people and nothing was done. I would have gotten my a** kicked if I called a black person a n****r.

Because Affirmative Action only applies if you are any race BUT white.
And, although I have never owned a slave (only a dog and he was black, does that count?), never beat one, never slurred one, and never tried to keep them from freedoms we all enjoy I catch hell because I am white. That's it. And I still can't do anything about it cuz Affirmative Action is racist and discriminatory.
And since most white people, especially white girls/women don't walk around packing heat with our posses, we have to take it up the *** or face a beat down.

I think you mean racial prejudice. Racism has to do with being in a position to exclude or impair someone from getting equal treatment based on race. So can you give some examples where non whites are in positions to do this? Please make your case. I'm not talking about hearsay, something concrete.

because somewhere along the line someone got a strange notion, that we should all have seperate groups. I am not sure why people allow this, but it makes me crazy.
I think that we should all simply be called Americans, no more Hispanic American or African American or any other degrading racial term, lets just all be Americans.

Because the truth is, white males still have more power than any other group in this country. Basically, most of you deserve what you get. When you FINALLY take a stand and end racism of all kinds in this country...then you will not be the targets of it either.
