Deists believe that a divinity, not Yahweh, just 'a divine being' created the universe at some point, in some way, and walked away, without ever revealing itself. Most modern deists believe that this Creator caused the Big Bang, ironed out the basic universal constants (electromagnetic permeability of space, strength of the forces, etc...) and then left the picture entirely.

Christians believe in a deity named Yahweh (vaguely -- YHVH is technically not pronouncable under phonological examination of the original Hebrew) who revealed himself first to the Semitic tribal culture and created a Covenant with them promising to be their god if they followed his rules,a nd that eventually he would send a savior, a messiah, to save them from sin. Christians believe that this promise was fulfilled in the person, Jesus of Nazareth/Bethlahem, whom they claim was born of a virgin and was crucified after three years of minstering, and believe that he resurrected bodily after his death and ascended to heaven, and that one day he will return again to finish fulfilling the messianic prophecies since many were left undone during his time on earth.

A deist believes that the universe implies a god to create it. Sort of the intelligent design argument. But they don't as a rule believe that the god has provided any clue as to his nature, or even cares rather we acknowledge him.

It's my understanding that most Deists view "God" as more of an absentee Landlord. "God" created everything, set it all in motion and then sat back and let it go... Where as Christianity has a personal "God" which interacts with his followers, gives gossip on Non-Believers and threatens everyone who doesn't listen to his followers.

A Deist would say: God created Earth and left it to be itself. He doesn't care about it.
A Ch. would say: God created Earth and to this day helps us survive it.

So deists think God made Earth, but left it be. That's why it's becoming worse and worser.
Ch. say God is operating in this world every second, and if He would have left this world..it would stop existing.

Deists aren't Christian. They believe in a god, yes. But they believe that god is evident in nature itself and nothing more. They generally scoff at organized religion.

purely out of interest, do you recognize that no longer all Christians even use the comparable version of Bible? You look taking choose examples and using them to all Christians in a generalization akin to the bigotry you will no longer turn a blind eye to. nonetheless, in case you desire a extra constructive occasion for bizarreness, in line with risk you will desire to have used the story of Lot. human beings believing the Bible in a literal word-for-word way tend to have issues explaining a number of the flaws he did.
