Before I begin, a little info about me
I am 19 years old and am only 5'4". Despite my short stature, I do keep in great shape (I was a distance runner in High School, now I am a regular weightlifter). I am strong (can bench 245, I weigh 145), and am for the most part confident about my appearance.
So why the unfair stigmatism toward short men when it comes to dating? Despite the fact I am in great shape, I often get the "you can't protect me" line. Tall girls all the time complain how we short men don't approach you, but when we do you burn us down and make us feel like the worst person in the world for approaching you! And what is with this whole trend of shorter women only liking extremely tall men? I was taller than a 5'2" girl I asked, but she said her minimum requirement was 5'9"!
What is with the unfair judgments in height? What can I do about it?
Women complain all the time about how we men are shallow, but damn do they judge hard on something we can't change!

I say be proud of who you are no matter what. I am sure someday some girl will come along that appreciates you for who you are with no judgments! Until then, good luck to you and look beyond the shallow women. There are lots out there!

Dude, it's not just short guys. I'm 6 foot 7 inches tall and I am constantly asked, jeez how tall are you? Do you play basketball? How's the weather up there. I am always banging my head on things. Being a big guy, I weigh 225, I'm always defending myself in bars. When some idiot gets a few too many beers in them they always want to prove they're tough by fighting the "biggest" guy. When the police show up it's always assumed I started it. I can't just go buy clothes. I wear a size 17 shoe. Awfully tough to find, plus they cost a bunch. So, while I feel your pain, try to look at the other side. We should just be happy with the way God made us. We are each perfect in our own way. Peace.

Your height has nothing to do with a great personality, there are many short men that are succesful in life and with women. The secret is be sexy with capital S,be the top on everything that you do,in other words be the best performer. Forget about your height, act like a tall man, walk like a tall man.

Not ALL women are like this. My man is 5'5". I'm 5'. I think it is because you are still young and these are "girls" you are dating, not adult women. In a few years things will improve. These girls will start to get sick of being treated like crap from tall @ssholes and begin to look past a guys looks. Keep yourself in good shape, don't become an @ss, and keep trying.

You'll eventually find a girl who doesn't care about heighth. As for a girl having a heigth requirement, I think that is insane- you're probably lucky she said no. She will miss out on lots of great guys because of that. I'm 5'2" and liked dating guys close to my heigth because you are more eye level that way- seriously it's great. I hope you know every girl isn't that judgmental!

She was one woman. You judge women based on her comment to you.

There are more fish in the sea and you are young. The right person is out there for you.
