We are having a beach wedding to save $. However, we have a large family over 150 people. Since it is a sunset wedding, do we have to have a typical reception with dinner? Any suggestions on how to have it very casual, informal and INEXPENSIVE?

I know how you feel, my husband and I were on a budget and our guest list climbed to almost 300. Since you are having a beach wedding, the surrounding already sounds beautiful enough to were you may not have to worry about fancy decorations or anything like that. Maybe just a small centerpiece (if one at all), inexpensive, that you can make. They have a lot of simple yet elegant things to put together at Wal-Mart or your local craft store. Since it is in the evening, if you cannot afford food, a dessert reception or maybe just appetizers would be good. Some of your guests may have eaten by the time they arrive for your ceremony, so cake, champagne or finger foods may do the trick. Also, when I got married, I realized that the little things add up and no one really notices them. Don't worry about the favors unless you'd really like some. Some places like Smart and Final and Costco helped me a lot since you can buy in bulk. It is your wedding, while you don't have to settle, don't be unrealistic at the same time. Use your imagination and remember it is your day and honestly, who can afford these weddings we see on TV? So good luck, congrats and you will have a beautiful wedding!

If you have a sunset wedding you don't have to serve dinner you could just serve dessert maybe. How about just champagne and strawberries shortcakes or something like that.

Forget the beach, get married in your mother's basement, and have the reception in the backyard. Have bbq ribs and kool-aid.

you could do simple candle arrangements by fill large clear glass bowls or large urns with shells or sand, then add candles, float flowers,in water filled oversized clear glass containers ,use mirrors on yor reception tables ,use in expensive flowers ,use lots of greenery such as palm leafs,i suggest you serve hot and cold foods, such as assorted cheeses,,fruits, shrimp cocktails, maybe serve veggies ,i hope this helps you, good luck!
