I would ask the teacher about it. There may be a reasonable explanation. Perhaps he was running and the teacher grabbed him...you never know until you ask.
Kids usually do not give all information and things can be taken the wrong way. I would just ask the teacher nicely. Don't jump on the bandwagon and do something you will regret! Let me share a story with you.
When my child was in 1st grade, she was running through the house like a crazy person so I went to grab her arm but she slipped away. My nail scratched her. The next day, the teacher asked where she got the scratch and all my daughter said was 'My mommy".
The teacher reported this to DCF and they showed up at my door. My privacy was invaded and my dignity was shot down because there was no communication FIRST. DCF interviewed both my kids, my neighbors and looked around my house. The case was closed the next day.
Don;t put someone through an investigation based on very little information.

Take pictures. Set your child down & explain the concept of truth, and if he or she doesn't tell the truth, someone could be blamed for the marks....
If the child still says it was the teacher, I would go to the school and talk to the principle. He or she will call in the teacher and together you can figure out what happened.
I'm not saying your child is a liar. You just don't want to jump the gun and look ridiculous in front of the administration if the teacher really didn't do it and it was your child's playmate....

Take a picture first.
Then go ask the teacher. I know once when I was babysitting kids and we were at the playground, one little boy almost fell off the slide set and I grabbed his arm and he had my hand mark for awhile.
If the teacher doesnt seem to be telling the truth, or you feel uncomfortable asking her, have a meeting with the principal. If no action is taken, go to the police.
It is illegal for the teacher to touch your child.

You can grab a 5 year old by his arm and swing him around for hours and he won't develop these marks. That teacher lost it and squeezed that child with tremendous force out of anger. I would see the person in charge of that school and demand an investigation. Even if you don't win, they make an incident report and file it. If that teacher gets enough incident reports, about 3, she will be expelled, if where you live is somewhat like new york city.....KECK

Definately bring it up to the school and document with Photo's. Other wise you may take the chance of someone blaming it on you.
If the child is being abused by a teacher, the teacher needs to go.

I would have a conference immediately with the teacher and the school principal and/or administrator. Find out exactly what happend and if abuse was positive, I would press charges. However, if your child was out of control and the only way to keep him from hurting himself and/or others was to physically restrain him, then that should be taken into consideration.

Take her to her Doctor or the ER. Take pictures and a video record of what she said and of her arm. I then would call a lawyer to see what is the next step. That teacher should NOT be working with kids. You should NEVER leave a mark. I am a firm believer in spanking. But never leave a mark. I would let the lawyer take the next step with cotacting the school. Or letting the police contact the school. But you need to take quick actions before to much time has passed.

Why dont you talk to the teacher. You may think your child is an angel, but often times, they dont tell the whole truth. Also, teachers sometimes do things they shouldnt. Please do not go into her classroom in a confrontational manner. That makes teachers very defensive and no good results can come from it. I speak from experience on the parent side and the teacher side. Get both sides of the story before coming to any conclusion.
