Basically, when a group of animals, no matter what they are, are separated from the main group, they will evolve differently - because of a different environment and stimuli in that environment. So, there was this group of monkeys in Africa that became separated from the main group and evolved differently. And over millions of years of evolution and MANY failed species, they eventually developed into what we now know as us! Leaving the monkeys as they are. Chimps and humans share about 98% of the same genetic makeup.

Cause we live in different ecozones which doesn't overlap. If humans all started living in the jungles or chimps want to come into our houses, before long one would wipe out the other. But since neither side is interested in the living conditions of the other, we can co-exist on the same planet.

Supposedly that's how the Neanderthals died out, because they were living in the same regions as our modern human ancestors, and couldn't hack the competition.

Which? Humans or apes?

All of the answers here proclaiming there is no such thing as evolution are really sad.

There is nothing to be afraid of with evolution. It really isn't a conflict with the Bible. People who think so just don't understand either evolution or the Bible.

Christians should have more faith than to think that different interpretations of either Creation story (did you know that there are two of them in Genesis?) are a threat to belief in God.

Humans did not evolve from monkeys or apes . God made man in his image, and that's the truth.

Evolved doesn't mean "turned into", it means that one or more individuals went off and bred a distinctly different type over time.

You are not looking for clarity or understanding - you are simply twisting words to obscure their meaning and then objecting to the bad result.

The rain we had this morning "turned into" sunshine at noon. Why is there rain now?

us and apes have a common ancestor, thats all

it IS possible for some individuals to evolve, and some to stay pretty much the same

usually one mutation every 10K years I think, for humans
