I hate making a great salad, covering it up and having it get soggy by day 2. How do I stop this?

If you like to pre-make your salad for the fridge, then make sure that all the ingredients for the salad are kept in it's own individual container/bag. If the ingredients are wet, for example the lettuce isn't completely dried off, or you have diced tomatoes, it will make the salad soggy and therefore won't taste very good. However if you kept everything seperated until you're ready to eat, it should hold for several days and taste like you just made it fresh. And NEVER pre-dress the salad!

First of all, put the salad dressing on 2 secs before eating so the salad does not get soggy when u take it out. Also, cover the prepared salad with foil..I've noticed it preserves the crispyness of the salad more than plastic wrap

The number one reason i bought this is because of soggy gross slimy salad and it works awesome! A Seal A Meal and it really does save you money when you dont throw food out all the time.

My mom taught me to cover it with a paper towel or two and nothing else. It sucks up the water really well. You can even put a few on the bottom of the bowl. It's always worked for me.

Keep the dressing seperate from the lettuce.

Keep your lettuces losely wrapped in a damp (not wet) paper towels and store that in a ziplock bag with a little air in it. This will keep the lettuce crisp much longer.

Don't put dressing on it, only put it on the individuals portions. Also use a salad spinner to wash and dry the lettuce.

Don't add dressing to the whole amount. Dressing is what makes it wilt. If you have fresh fruit in your salad, that will wilt it as well. Make sure to cut lettuce and store airtight.

Keep each ingredients in separate containers and only mix when you get ready to eat. Good Luck!
